This Holiday Season, the Bar’s Volunteer Lawyer Program (VLP) is receiving a large volume of high priority cases requiring volunteer legal assistance for victims of domestic violence. In addition to these victims’ emotional and physical trauma, many also face dire security and financial issues which can lead to homelessness for them and their children. Often, the clients are seeking a divorce from their abusive spouses. Others are seeking a restraining order or child support to help ease financial burdens. In the spirit of this season of giving, if you are able to lend your legal expertise to help restore normalcy and security to these victims’ lives, please contact VLP Coordinator, John Ellis at firstname.lastname@example.org or 401 421 7758.
