Amendments to Rules Governing Case Information Access

05/22/2017 - The Supreme Court has issued an order amending the Rules of Practice Governing Public Access to Electronic Case Information.

Rule 4 has been amended to strike full dates of birth from information that must be redacted in court filings. Full dates of birth are now public information.

Rule 5 has been amended to give all registered Rhode Island attorneys access to all public electronic case information, including documents and exhibits, whether or not they have entered an appearance in a case. Formerly, attorneys were restricted in their remote viewing access to cases in which they were entered. That restriction is now lifted.
