Writing Award for his article, A Review of the SECURE Act and Its Effect on Estate Planning with Retirement Assets, published in the Rhode Island Bar Journal: Volume 68, Number 3, November/December 2019.

Established in 1986, Rhode Island Bar Journal Lauren E. Jones, Esq. The Writing Award Committee also recognized Marc J. Soss, Esq., with an Outstanding Contributor Award based on his consistent and significant article submissions on important developments in the law. Attorney Soss has contributed thirteen articles to the Bar Journal in the past ten years, eight of which were submitted in the last five years. Both Gene and Marc will be honored with the awards when large gatherings are safely permitted.

Don't forget to check out this week's Annual Meeting virtual programs! I mentioned Wednesday's Animal Law program last week, but you also don't want to miss Friday's Navigating Multi-Level Regulatory Schemes: Examples in Cannabis and Liquor presented by Jenna Giguere, Esq., Dylan Conley, Esq., Nicholas Hemond, Esq., Benjamin Rackliffe, Esq., and Lisa Holley, Esq. Attorneys representing clients in heavily regulated industries work within a complex framework of interacting federal, state, and municipal laws and authorities. Practical examples from two such industries, liquor and cannabis, give an interesting context to a panel discussion exploring practice in areas of overlapping jurisdictions. This program is sponsored by Secure Future Tech Solutions.
