Welcome to the Rhode Island Bar Association Continuing Legal Education (CLE) page. Here, you can find information on upcoming live CLE seminars, online seminars, and our latest publications.

Every year, the RI Bar CLE Committee & Annual Meeting Committee, in collaboration with our dedicated staff, organize over 60 continuing legal education programs for our esteemed members. 

As a member of the Bar, you are required to complete ten hours of CLE each year, including two hours on ethics and professionalism. We offer a variety of seminars, workshops, and courses to help you fulfill this requirement. Check out our calendar and registration information below.

CLE Seminar Calendar
CLE seminars are offered in-person and/or virtually via Zoom, covering diverse topics to suit practitioners at every level. When you register for a webinar, the Zoom link will be sent to you via email 24 hours before the program.

On-Demand CLE Seminars
Explore our on-demand CLE seminars, including programs from other bar associations. 
Please note: Rhode Island attorneys may earn a maximum of six credits through video replay (on-demand) seminars. There is no limit on live webcast credit accrual.

New Attorney Requirements

REMINDER: According to Article IV Rule 3, all Continuing Legal Education credits must be reported to the MCLE Commission by June 30th each year. You can conveniently report these credits electronically through the Supreme Court's Attorney Portal, which can be accessed here. Please note that credits can be stored and submitted at any time during the CLE year (July 1 - June 30), eliminating the need to wait until the last minute. If you have any questions regarding this requirement, please contact the MCLE Commission at (401) 222-4942 or visit their website.
